3. of July, 11. " that there were no means 17 in the Australian Colonies of providing for the reception of Convicts from Hongkong had been considered by Your Lordship in the strong light of a prohibition.
Of the ten convicts reported in my despatch N=67. 8f 1844. nine had been sentenced to transportation and one to death, before Your Lordship's despatch N. 23 arrived, and as the
